Connecting Essay
This image is from the internet and very clearly we can see a cigarette rested upon what looks like a wall, the cigarette is pointing away from the wall and is continuing to burn itself down to the butt. The image isn't massively intriguing but still raises some questions, for example how did it get there, who does it belong to and is there a specific reason for it pointing away from the wall, is there something off in the distance.
This is my image, here a cigarette has been placed on a tree, the image itself is full up of forest the only abnormality is the cigarette itself, in a way this can symbolise the harm of smoking as a person having a cigarette effects the wildlife and the smoke pollutes the air. This can also show the harm of people littering, littering is damaging the wildlife just as smoking harms people.
The two images have some similarities, obviously the way they look is pretty similar as both cigarettes have been placed on something, the background is rather blurred and uninteresting, and maybe both send a similar message about smoking, whether is be how damaging it is. Perhaps that's why there are no models, maybe the cigarettes are whats left of smokers after a long time.
